We are a Full Service Financial Institution dedicated to serving and meeting the needs of our members. Over the last 30 years we have grown to over $50 million in assets and proudly support a membership of over 9,500. Scroll down to Our History to find out how we have grown.
Giving back to the community from which we receive so much support, is always a priority. We do this through lower rates and higher dividends to our members as well as donations and support to the schools of Richmond, Columbia, and Lincoln Counties. Contact us for further information.
Our History
In 1976 Health Center Credit Union (HCCU), was chartered by the Georgia Department of Banking and Finance. HCCU opened it's first office in the Murphy Building at the Medical College of Georgia. Branch Two was opened in 1987 at St. Joseph Hospital (now known as Trinity Hospital) and Branch Three followed that same year at Augusta State University. With the addition of the MCG Annex, South Augusta, and Evans Offices, we now have 6 locations in Richmond and Columbia Counties to serve our members from.
During this time our products and services have grown as well. HCCU implemented checking accounts, a 24 hour voice response line for member inquires, Online Banking, Billpay, Money Market accounts, Visa check cards, and we now have 4 ATM locations.
The MCG Annex houses a full service Mortgage Department to help members finance their dream homes. We continually look for ways in which we can offer our members services that will help improve their financial lives.

What is a Credit Union?
A Credit Union is a not-for-profit member-owned financial institution operating for the benefit of its membership. Credit Unions pay higher dividends on savings and offer reduced rates on loans to their members. Additional earnings are redistributed to the members in the form of new products and services. Each member must meet eligibility requirements spelled out by the Credit Union's Charter to become a member. The Board of Directors of the Credit Union is elected from the general field of membership and are unpaid for their service.
